Course overview

The course aims to introduce concepts, methods, and terminology of User Experience (UX) design. It places UX within the field of digital product development and human-computer interaction. Content Introduction to UX fundamentals, distinguishing it from UI, Service Design, and Product Management, roles in the development process, as well as typical deliverables and process models from requirements to release. User and context analysis through target group descriptions, personas, usage scenarios, user journeys, and task analyses, including methods of data collection and evaluation. Information architecture and interaction design with structuring of content, navigation concepts, user flows, wireframes, and prototyping in low to mid-fidelity. Visual design and UI fundamentals with layout principles, typography, color, components, design systems, as well as states and feedback in the interface. Usability and evaluation using heuristics, usability tests, metrics, evaluation of observational and usage data, and deriving improvement measures. Framework conditions and implementation with accessibility principles, data protection aspects, handover to development, documentation, and collaboration in interdisciplinary teams.
