Course overview

The program qualifies individuals who work in nursing without formal training. It is also suitable for those seeking a quick entry into nursing due to a desire for professional reorientation or to re-enter the workforce. Therefore, prior knowledge in the field of nursing is not necessary to participate in the Basic Qualification in Nursing. The course is designed to be completed alongside work. The practical components are carried out at the respective employer. Participants are prepared for everyday work as nursing assistants. They will learn all the necessary knowledge and skills to work in a nursing home, a day care facility, or an outpatient nursing service after completing the program. At the same time, successfully completing the Basic Qualification in Nursing provides a solid foundation for further qualification as a nursing assistant or as a qualified nurse. This opens many pathways for a career in nursing. This offering covers part of the content requirements for treatment care of service groups 1 and 2. Due to the close proximity to our vocational school for nursing professions, our well-equipped practical classrooms and skills lab are utilized during the theoretical training blocks. Contents Health and Illness Theory Emergency Training Basic Care and Hygiene Mobilization and Transfer Communication Legal Studies Fundamentals of nursing and job-related topics such as emergency standards Treatment nursing measures of service groups 1 and 2 Measuring blood sugar Preparing injections Administering medication according to medical prescriptions Care for PEG Among other things, we discuss the following questions: What does nursing mean? How do I provide proper care? What hygiene regulations exist and what must I consider legally? How are nursing reports written? How do I communicate with patients and their relatives? What is an emergency? Which situations are life-threatening?
