Certification of Competence for Crane Operators (Loader Crane)

Course overview

With the "Certification of Competence - Crane Operator (Loader Crane)", you will acquire the necessary technical and legal knowledge for the safe and trouble-free movement of loads with the loader crane. The course is based on the statutory accident insurance principle DGUV 309-003 and the statutory accident insurance regulation DGUV V 52. Focus areas:- Legal foundations- Regulations- Safety conditions- Construction and equipment- Safe operation of cranes- Testing methods - Evidence management Target group: Individuals with practical work experience (without a certificate of competence according to DGUV V 52 § 29) who wish to obtain the required qualification to operate a loader crane. Prerequisites:- Completed 18th year of life- Proficient use of the German language in spoken and written form (including for successfully passing the final theoretical exam)- Physical, mental, and character suitability- Practical work experience in operating loader cranes "Physical suitability can be determined through a medical examination according to the statutory accident insurance principle for occupational medical examinations G 25 "Driving, steering, and monitoring activities". Selected individuals are particularly expected to have the following prerequisites: • Understanding of technical and physical relationships, • Ability to learn, implement, and apply signals, • Character traits of being reliable, responsible, and cautious." (cf. DGUV principle 309-003) For successful participation in the course, a language level of B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is recommended. Upon request, we reserve the right to demand corresponding proof. Completion: After passing the theoretical exam (in technical language German), the crane operator will receive a personal crane operator's license. Additional note: According to DGUV Regulation 1 (§ 4 Abs. 1), certificates of competence for loader cranes and tower cranes must be refreshed annually through a training session that covers current safety regulations, technical developments, and practical knowledge. The refreshment occurs in the form of short training sessions or instructions by qualified persons (also possible within the company), tailored to the risk assessment and operational requirements. - Status: 21.07.2026
