Treatment Care LG1 and LG2

Course overview

"Treatment care includes medically delegable measures that occur alongside basic care in daily nursing practice. The simple treatment care of Performance Group 1 and the extended treatment care of Performance Group 2 range from medication administration and vital sign monitoring to the care of catheters, stomas, and PEG tubes. Expertise and practical application are interlinked in six consecutive phases. Course Content 1. LG1 - Medication Administration in Daily Nursing Preparation and administration of physician-prescribed medications Handling of dosage forms and dosages Documentation of administered medications 2. LG1 - Measuring and Interpreting Vital Signs Recording pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration Recognizing deviations from normal ranges Communicating measurement values to the responsible nursing professional 3. LG1 and LG2 - Subcutaneous and Intramuscular Injections Indications and injection sites for both application forms Hygienic preparation and execution of the injection Recognizing and avoiding typical complications 4. LG1 and LG2 - Dressing Changes, Compression, and Complex Wound Care Procedure for simple dressing changes Application and monitoring of compression stockings Assessment of chronic wounds, wound dressings, and wound documentation 5. LG2 - Catheter and Stoma Care Handling of bladder catheters in nursing care Care and change of stoma care systems Hygiene requirements and infection prevention 6. LG2 - PEG Tube and Respiratory Care Handling and monitoring of the PEG tube Administration of tube feeding and medications via the tube Measures for respiratory care and observation of breathing Professional Relevance Taking over delegable services of treatment care in outpatient and inpatient services Employment in home healthcare and intensive care assistance Expansion of nursing competencies beyond basic care"
