The course "Accounting: Administration and Accounting / Financial Accounting" provides fundamental and advanced knowledge for activities at the interface of administration, accounting, and financial accounting. It is aimed at individuals who wish to take on administrative and accounting tasks within a company or systematically expand their existing knowledge in the commercial sector. The course covers the interrelationships of bookkeeping, double-entry accounting, balance sheet preparation, and business accounting, placing these in the organizational context of corporate administration. At the beginning, the organizational foundations of administration and their connection to accounting are presented. Participants learn how administrative processes are structured and how they are represented in accounting. The role of financial accounting as a central component of commercial administration is explained. Accounting is introduced as a documentation and control instrument that makes administrative processes transparent and enables structured evaluations. Another focus is on the fundamentals of bookkeeping and double-entry accounting. Participants engage with legal bookkeeping obligations as well as the principles of proper accounting. The systematics of debits and credits, the structure of account frameworks and account plans, and the integration of financial accounting into the overall accounting system are clearly conveyed. The goal is to be able to understand and independently carry out bookings. In the area of administration and financial accounting, typical administrative tasks with accounting relevance are addressed. These include, among other things, the organization of documents, the preparation of bookings, and the collaboration between administration and accounting. Participants learn about the structure of the journal, general ledger, and subsidiary ledgers, and gain an overview of accounts payable and accounts receivable. Bookkeeping is understood as an ongoing process in everyday administrative work. Another course content is the booking and valuation of ongoing business transactions. Participants learn how revenues and expenses are recorded within the framework of double-entry accounting and how these bookings affect financial accounting. Valuation issues related to receivables, liabilities, and depreciation are also addressed, as well as typical sources of error in accounting and suitable control mechanisms. Building on this, balance sheet preparation is introduced. Participants receive an overview of the structure of the balance sheet and the profit and loss statement, as well as the relationship between ongoing bookkeeping, financial accounting, and balance sheet preparation.
