Course overview

Secretaries and assistants are the first points of contact that a new client or business partner encounters. The quality of this contact has a significant impact on the further development of the business relationship. This English training is specifically tailored to the everyday tasks of assistants and secretaries and covers the following key areas: reception, socializing, telephone communication, and correspondence (especially email writing). In addition to important vocabulary, phrases, and correct grammar, great emphasis is placed on improving English small talk skills, as these are essential in English-speaking countries to establish and maintain a positive relationship with others - a crucial step towards success. Recommended language level: Intermediate English skills (B1) Contents of the 2-day seminar: Reception: Greeting visitors, introducing oneself and others, small talk, offering help, hosting, asking questions, initiating conversations, bridging pauses, guiding or accompanying visitors, and much more. Telephone communication: Answering and initiating calls, transferring calls, scheduling appointments, giving directions, conveying apologies, handling complaints, bookings, reservations, cancellations, spelling names, clarifying misunderstandings. Writing emails, letters, and minutes: Greetings, subject lines, closing formulas, attachments, abbreviations, personal text modules, using AI.
