Cloud infrastructure includes computing power, storage, and networking that are available as billable services and are managed through configuration rather than hardware. The focus is on the setup, ongoing operation, and security of a cloud environment. Virtual machines, storage services, network segments, and access rights form the technical core of cloud infrastructure. Course Content 1. Resources and Service Models Virtual machines, images, and computing power based on load profiles Block, object, and file storage with their application areas Virtual networks, subnets, and transitions between networks 2. Structured Environment Setup Accounts and separate environments for development and production Naming and labeling schemes for all resources Infrastructure as Code: Describe environments, do not set up manually 3. Operation of the Infrastructure Monitoring of status and utilization Applying updates and patches Adjusting capacity to changing demand 4. Security and Disaster Recovery Access rights based on the principle of least privilege Enforcing network boundaries and segmentation with policies Data backup and recovery after disruptions Professional Relevance Fields of application for cloud administrators, cloud engineers, and system administrators lie in transitioning traditional server operations to the cloud Platform engineers and DevOps engineers are responsible for configuration, permissions, and capacity Lack of structure in accounts and labeling complicates operation and traceability
