Cyber Threat Analysis specifically addresses the diverse challenges and highly complex questions surrounding threat detection, incident response, and digital forensics in modern IT landscapes. The course is aimed at those who want to implement not only the fundamentals of cybersecurity but also concrete techniques such as network forensics, vulnerability analysis, penetration testing, SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), malware analysis, and encryption with Python in a practical manner. A particular focus is placed on distinguishing and evaluating various network security measures, realistic incident triage, password security, as well as risk and threat analyses in cloud and hybrid environments. This training is distinguished by the systematic integration of current threat models and practical security awareness concepts tailored to industrial requirements. Fundamentals and Core Concepts Detailed introduction to cybersecurity, network security, and information security Understanding threat detection and incident response based on current attack methods (e.g., ransomware, malware) Analysis of basic encryption and authentication methods for data protection Examination of typical vulnerabilities, firewall concepts, and vulnerability scans Classification of data protection and access management in everyday operations Overview of security awareness, cloud security, endpoint security, and their interplay Technical Implementation and Practice Concrete setup of firewalls and implementation of access control with Python and modern security frameworks Examples of SIEM, malware detection, and automated penetration testing in real IT setups Introduction to automated vulnerability analysis and security monitoring tools Comprehensive methods for encrypting and securing sensitive data and communication channels Scaling technical solutions for productive use (e.g., threat detection in corporate networks) Techniques for endpoint security and integration with existing cloud infrastructures Analysis, Interpretation, and Validation Validation of incident triage, risk assessment, and response measures Visualization of threat data, identification of attack patterns and vulnerabilities Documentation, compliance requirements, and reporting of all defense measures Detection of biases in security data, evaluation of penetration testing results Creation of meaningful security reports for internal and external stakeholders Critical assessment of current trends in the threat landscape Practical Projects, Case Studies, and Deepening Analysis of real attacks (e.g., ransomware, malware) and development of suitable incident response strategies Development and evaluation of complete cybersecurity workflows on real datasets
