Course overview
From tribological data to reliable knowledge with AI, Machine Learning, and FAIR principles Tribology generates diverse data from experiments, simulations, and industrial applications. This seminar demonstrates how Data Science, AI, and Machine Learning can help structure this data, recognize patterns, and derive reliable insights for research, development, and practice. The goal of the seminar is to enable participants to effectively contextualize and apply Data Science, AI, and Machine Learning for tribological questions. You will learn key terms, FAIR principles, data quality, AI/ML workflows, algorithms, application examples, deep learning, and physics-informed ML. Additionally, opportunities, limitations, and typical challenges of data-driven approaches in research and development will be critically discussed. NOTE: This seminar is part of the certificate program 'Tribology Expert (TAE)' www.tae.de/60160 and can also be booked individually.
