Data protection and data security are now central requirements in the healthcare and nursing sectors. In care facilities, outpatient services, and other healthcare institutions, particularly sensitive personal data is processed daily. At the same time, digitalization is continuously advancing: electronic nursing documentation, mobile devices, cloud solutions, digital communication channels, and interconnected information systems facilitate many work processes but also impose high demands on the secure and lawful handling of sensitive information. This training provides you with in-depth knowledge of the legal foundations of data protection as well as practical measures for data security in everyday nursing practice. You will learn about the requirements arising from the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other legal regulations, and how these can be safely implemented in a professional environment. You will receive a structured overview of data protection principles, rights of affected individuals, documentation obligations, and the secure handling of digital systems and communication channels. A special focus is placed on practical application in the nursing field. You will learn how to protect patient data, design digital work processes in compliance with data protection regulations, and avoid typical risks in handling sensitive health data. Furthermore, you will learn how to sustainably integrate data protection and information security into existing workflows and raise awareness among employees for responsible data handling.
