Course overview

Digitalization includes the module Digital Transformation as well as a supplementary Business English module at an appropriate language level. Strategic, Structural, and Cultural Dimensions The continuing education course addresses the strategic, structural, and cultural dimensions of modern change processes in companies. At the center of the qualification is digitalization, which as an ongoing process forces the realignment of business processes and business models. Participants acquire in-depth knowledge about how digitalization changes existing processes and which technological drivers determine economic development. In addition to the theoretical foundations of transformation, it is analyzed how the degree of digitalization of organizations can be systematically assessed and sustainably increased through targeted measures. Strategic Realignment A key focus is on strategic realignment. Understanding a digital business model and the mechanisms of platform economy forms the foundation for early recognition of market changes. In this context, it is discussed how a looming disruption of established markets can be countered by one's own innovation strategies. Since digitalization generates enormous amounts of data, the qualification also focuses on building Data Literacy. It is conveyed how Big Data, the structured use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the application of Predictive Analytics contribute to evidence-based decision-making. The requirements of Data Governance as well as the legal frameworks of Cyber Security and Compliance & Data Protection (GDPR) are always taken into account. Process Digitalization On a procedural level, the continuing education addresses comprehensive process digitalization to create seamless workflows. The fundamentals of automating recurring tasks are addressed as well as the integration of flexible architectures via SaaS (Software as a Service) / Cloud Computing. A modern interface (API) enables data exchange to gradually replace or efficiently integrate outdated legacy systems. Change Management Alongside technical implementation, digitalization requires targeted support for the affected organizational units. Change Management serves as the bridge to business practice. The introduction of concepts from the area of New Work requires a high level of Change Literacy / Digital Agility to reduce fears and minimize resistance within the workforce. English Language Although the Change Management module is taught in German and is organizationally separate from language instruction, the English language is an indispensable complement for overall success. Since specialist literature, international standards, software documentation, and the terminology of digitalization are largely based in English, a solid language competence facilitates direct access to global best practices.
