Course overview
In the introductory module, participants build a foundational understanding of the English language for professional everyday use. The goal is to develop an active basic vocabulary as well as speaking confidence and spontaneity in familiar situations. Language instruction is provided in cooperation with Wall Street English according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The course consists of 400 units. The content is closely aligned with the job market and directly applicable. Oral communication and active language use Conduct simple conversations in a professional environment Practical speaking situations: short phone calls, briefings, and agreements Role plays and realistic everyday scenarios for conversation management Training in speaking confidence, spontaneity, and self-assurance Building initial responsiveness in daily office life Grammar, structures, and language patterns Establishing basic structures Grammar as a tool for clear, simple statements in the workplace Error reduction through targeted exercises and applied practice Patterns and formulations for typical professional everyday situations Vocabulary, functional language, and variety of expression Basic formulations for meetings, agreements, and office communication Development of useful standard phrases for clear communication Building a job market-oriented basic vocabulary Activation and repetition of new vocabulary in interactive language use Written communication Practice-oriented writing tasks: short emails, notes, information dissemination Structured formulation for simple professional communications Precise and target group-appropriate formulations in simple language Reading comprehension and information-oriented work Understanding short technical texts, memos, and simple reports Extracting core information from news, emails, and documents Initial strategies for faster and more targeted reading Pronunciation, clarity, and comprehensibility Improving individual pronunciation patterns Exercises on rhythm, stress, and intonation Speaking clearly and confidently, even in stressful situations Professional competencies Applying for jobs and job interviews (basics) English in the workplace: office and professional communication, customer service, sales and marketing, leadership and management, cultural awareness The module covers the development of job-related English skills at CEFR levels A1 to A2. Participants conduct simple conversations, write short messages, and build a professional basic vocabulary. The module can be booked individually or in combination with other modules; entry is based on the results of the placement test.
