English for Work A2/B1: Communication at Work

Course overview

Speaking English at work without stress doesn't have to be an impossible task. It's primarily a matter of training! This intensive week focuses on oral communication. You will learn typical phrases for standard situations in the workplace and practice them in a practical way, such as greeting customers politely and providing information (in person or over the phone), scheduling appointments, and handling complaints. You will also learn compensation strategies to help you when you can't recall a word. Background information on politics and society in the USA is also part of the course (this is a requirement for recognition as educational leave). Prerequisite: At least 5-6 years of school English or comparable knowledge. Important: Please send the result of your online placement test at level A2 (minimum 75%) by email to vhs@ladadi.de at the same time as your registration. If you have any questions, we are also happy to advise you by phone (06151-8812309). The textbook is not included in the course fee. Please bring it to the first session! In Hesse, employees are entitled to 5 days of paid educational leave per year. This course is open to everyone, even if you do not claim educational leave. Due to legal regulations, educational leave includes components of political and social education.
