Course overview

The training provides practical knowledge in computer science with a focus on IT security and the protection of modern IT systems. Participants learn to understand technical infrastructures, recognize typical security risks, and implement appropriate protective measures. Initially, central fundamentals of operating systems, networks, user accounts, permissions, and IT infrastructures are covered. Building on this, participants engage with basic principles of information and IT security. Another focus is on access protection, authentication, rights management, secure networks, firewalls, and the protection of end devices and systems. Typical threats such as phishing, malware, insecure configurations, and unauthorized access are also addressed. Additionally, participants learn to recognize security incidents, conduct simple vulnerability analyses, and implement technical measures to secure IT systems. Fundamentals of logging, monitoring, backup, and secure system operation complement the content. Practical exercises connect computer science, system administration, and IT security, preparing participants for roles in IT administration, technical support, and security-oriented IT teams.
