Course overview

Course Objective The Advanced UX Design course focuses on deepening user-centered methods in the field of User Experience Design. The main topics include conception, prototyping, and evaluation of digital products with an emphasis on interaction design and information architecture. The course covers approaches to derive requirements from user and business contexts and the structured transformation into testable artifacts. The goal is to expand methodological competencies for planning, developing, and testing complex usage scenarios. Content Requirements Analysis and Research Synthesis: Collection and evaluation of qualitative and quantitative user data, derivation of personas, scenarios, and jobs-to-be-done, prioritization of requirements using frameworks like Kano and MoSCoW, documentation in the product backlog. Information Architecture and Navigation Models: Structuring of content, card sorting and tree testing, taxonomy development, definition of navigation paths and state logics for multi-layered interfaces. Interaction Design and Prototyping: Creation of user flows, wireframes, and clickable prototypes, definition of states and error cases, component and pattern libraries, handover to UI using design tokens. Usability Testing and Measurement: Planning and conducting moderated tests, remote tests, and A/B tests, collection of metrics such as task success, time on task, and SUS, evaluation and derivation of actionable recommendations. Accessibility and Guidelines: Application of WCAG criteria, keyboard navigation, contrast and readability checks, semantics and ARIA, documentation of accessibility requirements. Collaboration and Handover: Coordination with product management and development, creation of specifications, versioning in design tools, hand-off processes, and change management. Learning Objectives - Analyze user requirements based on qualitative and quantitative data sources. - Create information architectures including navigation and taxonomy models. - Develop interactive prototypes with defined states and components. - Conduct usability tests including evaluation of metrics and derivation of measures. - Implement accessibility requirements according to WCAG in design specifications. - Integrate UX artifacts into product and development processes through structured hand-off. Career Prospects The course content is applicable in fields such as UX Designer, Interaction Designer, and Product Designer, particularly in areas of conception, prototyping, and user testing. Typical job fields also include UX Research Assistant and the interface to product management and frontend development, such as in requirements analysis, specification, and handover. Summary The Advanced UX Design course covers advanced methods for requirements analysis, interaction design, prototyping, usability testing, and accessibility. This training provides methods for structuring complex usage scenarios and for collaborative handover to development teams. The cont…
