Course overview

The course "Generative AI" provides fundamental and advanced knowledge about generative methods of Artificial Intelligence and their application in professional and organizational contexts. The focus of the training is on the functioning of generative AI systems and their use for creating texts, images, data structures, analyses, or digital content. Participants will gain an overview of how generative AI models work, the technologies behind them, and how these systems can be applied in various work areas. The course is aimed at professionals from different industries, individuals from administration, marketing, communication, project management, IT-related fields, as well as those interested in exploring the possibilities of generative AI in the professional environment. At the beginning of the training, fundamental concepts of generative Artificial Intelligence will be introduced. This includes an explanation of how generative models are structured, the role of training data, and how large language models and other generative systems can produce content. Participants will learn key terms and technologies associated with generative AI, including Large Language Models, neural networks, training processes, and data-based pattern recognition. The goal of this section is to establish a basic understanding of how generative AI works and to contextualize its possibilities and limitations. A significant component of the course is the practical use of generative AI systems for various tasks. Participants will explore how generative AI can be used to create texts, summaries, concepts, ideas, or structured information. They will learn how to formulate inputs to AI systems to obtain relevant and structured results. A focus will be on developing skills in using AI-supported tools to assist with research, documentation, communication, or analysis processes. Furthermore, application fields of generative AI in various professional contexts will be addressed. This includes, for example, the creation of texts for communication and documentation, support in analyzing information, preparing complex content, or generating ideas and concepts. Participants will learn how generative AI systems can support work processes and which tasks are particularly suitable for such support. At the same time, it will be explained what role human evaluation, professional oversight, and content contextualization continue to play in the use of generative AI. Another focus of the training is on evaluating and contextualizing AI-generated content. Participants will learn to critically examine the results of generative systems, assess their plausibility, and revise them if necessary. Typical errors or uncertainties that can occur with generative AI systems will also be discussed, as well as how to handle automatically generated content responsibly.
