Fundamentals of Project Management Tools and DevOps Practices

Course overview

Objective The training course provides practical knowledge in project management and the application of agile methods as well as in the area of DevOps. It enables efficient use of common project management tools and the implementation of DevOps principles to optimize IT processes. Content The training is divided into two main areas. The first part focuses on project management tools and their practical application. The basics and advanced functions of tools such as Trello, Kanban, and Jira are taught. Content includes the digital implementation of Kanban boards, the application of the MoSCoW method with tools like Asana, and the creation of agile roadmaps. Digital whiteboards like Miro are also covered. The second part is dedicated to the fundamentals of DevOps. The content includes the emergence, philosophy, and central practices of DevOps, including version control, configuration management, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD). The course addresses the importance of value stream thinking, Definition of Done (DoD), and service management as enablers for DevOps. It also discusses the role of metrics and KPIs, the collaboration of DevOps with Scrum and Lean/Kanban, as well as DevSecOps practices. Finally, the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in DevOps, such as GenAI and AIOps, as well as exam preparation content are covered. Implementation of agile methods such as Kanban and MoSCoW in digital project work. Understanding of the core principles and practices of DevOps. Implementation of CI/CD pipelines and configuration management. Evaluation and application of metrics for process optimization in the DevOps environment.
