Home and Elderly Care (Basic Care Certificate)

Course overview

The training consists of 2 modules and enables you to work in home care and activation of primarily elderly people based on a holistic understanding of care. You will learn through a mix of theory and practical application and have the opportunity to obtain either one or both certificates. In Module I (Basic Care Certificate), the following learning fields are covered: Basic nursing knowledge Age-related diseases Nursing processes Nursing planning and documentation Introduction to gerontology Basic knowledge of gerontopsychiatry First aid / behavior in emergencies Interpersonal communication Nutrition science Legal knowledge Wheelchair training Job market Internship (Compact 4 weeks in a care facility) Each module of this training is supplemented by a 4-week internship in a care facility. If you participate in both modules, only one internship (4 weeks) is completed.
