Course overview

This module imparts the following knowledge: - Understanding important concepts for securing information and data to prevent identity theft, fraud, and data theft. - Being able to protect a computer, other IT technology devices, and networks from malware and unauthorized access. - Understanding the functionality of different types of networks, connection methods, and network-specific programs and techniques (e.g., firewall). - Being able to browse the World Wide Web safely with a browser and communicate over the Internet. - Understanding the security issues that can arise during communication, such as with email and instant messaging. - Being able to secure, restore, and irretrievably delete data. This module concludes with an ICDL exam.
