Course overview

AI Risk Managers assess and manage the risks associated with the use of AI in companies - from erroneous decisions due to faulty AI outputs to dependencies on vendors. The training provides risk management at the corporate level, in contrast to project-related risk management of individual AI initiatives. Risk Landscape of AI Use - Types of Risks: Quality, Legal, Reputation, Dependency, Security - Risks from use, non-use, and shadow use of AI - Risk Inventory: systematically capturing AI applications in the company Assessing and Prioritizing Risks - Clearly estimating the probability of occurrence and impact - Distinguishing significant risks from tolerable ones Management and Controls Risk management operates through concrete, lived measures. - Establishing controls such as review steps, approvals, and sampling - Emergency and contingency plans for critical AI dependencies - Preparing risk reports for management and committees Interaction with Other Functions - Clarifying interfaces with data protection, compliance, and IT security - Supporting departments in assessing risks of new AI applications - Systematically utilizing lessons learned from incidents and near-misses This course teaches how to capture, assess, and manage AI risks at the corporate level with effective controls.
