Course overview

Compression therapy has been used since early historical periods as a low-side-effect and effective treatment for patients with edema. However, the positive treatment outcomes of compression therapy have not contributed to a sustainable improvement in the healthcare reality in Germany, as current scientific findings demonstrate. Rather, there are knowledge deficits in the handling of established materials, which lead to errors in application. Furthermore, many therapy options that have been established in the last 15 years are either unknown or rarely used. This training provides you with therapy options and expertise for successful treatment. Content - Anatomy & Physiology; Vascular Systems - Edema: Symptoms and Warning Signs - Individual Forms of Edema - Diagnostics - Indications / Contraindications of Compression, Mechanism of Action of Compression - Practical Material Science Part 1 - including pressure measurement and practical exercises for applying a compression bandage - Complex Physical Decongestion - KPE (Lymph Therapy) - Foot Pulse Measurement and Determination of KADI using a Doppler - Practical Material Science Part 2 - including patient education as well as tips & tricks and toe wrapping
