Course overview

The part-time continuing education program qualifies you for nursing management according to DKG guidelines and meets both the requirements for managing a station/area according to DKG and the requirements for the leading specialist according to §71.3 SGB XI. You will be provided with all the necessary qualifications to take on the management role of a PDL in clinics, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and nursing homes. The successfully completed continuing education for "Nursing Management of a Station or Unit According to DKG" enables participants to undertake complex management and leadership tasks of a department, nursing service, or station management, especially in acute inpatient care, such as in hospitals, and to confidently and competently meet quality requirements in patient care. COURSE STRUCTURE = 800 hours of continuing education, including: 720 hours of theory 80 hours of practical training (observations) • two written module examinations (term paper and observation report) • two oral module examinations • one oral final examination THEORETICAL TRAINING The theoretical part of the training is conducted in a modular format and consists of two basic modules and five specialized modules. Basic Module Basic Module: Justifying, Initiating, and Shaping Developments (80 UE) Specialized Modules Specialized Module I: Acting Economically and in Compliance with Guidelines (130 UE) Specialized Module II: Acting Innovatively (120 UE) Specialized Module III: Promoting and Motivating Employees (138 UE) Specialized Module IV: Implementing Organizational Management as a Leader (124 UE) Specialized Module V: Leading and Managing (128 UE) PRACTICAL TRAINING The practical part of the nursing training for station managers includes 80 hours of observation divided into three sections. Two different areas of deployment take place in your own hospital/establishment. The third observation (at least 40 hours) is completed in an external facility. The subject of the observations always relates to leadership and management.
