Company data today resides in both local networks and with external platform providers. This course combines network security and cloud security, demonstrating how protective measures can be uniformly planned and enforced across both realms. Basics of Network Security Understand protection goals, threats, and typical attack vectors on corporate networks Utilize firewalls, segmentation, and demilitarized zones as foundational elements Provide secure remote access via VPN with strong authentication Effectively secure WLAN and network access against unauthorized devices Security with Platform Providers Clarify shared responsibility between provider and customer for security issues Assign identities, roles, and access rights based on the principle of least privilege Protect virtual networks with security groups and private endpoints Consistently encrypt data during storage and transmission Unified Security Strategy Establish uniform policies for local and hosted systems Secure connections between locations and platforms Early detection of misconfigurations using auditing tools Consider data protection and compliance when selecting providers Monitoring and Response Centrally collect and analyze log data from networks and platforms Detect attacks and suspicious activities in both environments Coordinate the handling of security incidents across system boundaries Create a comprehensive security concept for a sample company You can jointly plan and implement security measures for traditional networks and hosted environments.
