Course overview

This practice-oriented basic nursing course at the KISA Academy imparts fundamental knowledge and skills for activities in nursing and care. Participants acquire solid foundational knowledge of nursing processes, hygiene standards, and professional interaction with people in need of care. The aim of the course is to support nursing professionals in their daily work and to promote quality-oriented care for patients. Course content at a glance: • **Fundamentals of Nursing** - Introduction to basic nursing principles, nursing processes, nursing responsibilities, and ethical aspects in daily nursing practice. • **Communication and Interaction with Care Recipients** - Empathetic interaction, patient-oriented care, appreciative communication, and communication with relatives. • **Hygiene and Infection Prevention** - Teaching hygiene standards, infection protection, recognizing and preventing risks, and basics of occupational safety. • **Nursing Assistance Measures** - Support in basic care, mobilization of care recipients, and assistance with daily activities. • **Nutrition and Fluid Supply** - Basics of nutrition in nursing, support with food intake, meal preparation, and ensuring adequate fluid intake. • **Health Protection and Occupational Safety** - Self-protection, ergonomic working, and safe and responsible handling of materials and aids. • **Consultation Skills in Nursing** - Guidance and information for patients and relatives, open communication, and support in dealing with worries and fears. - **Learning Objective** Participants will be empowered to relieve nursing professionals in their daily work, competently perform basic nursing tasks, and safely implement hygiene standards. A special focus of the course is on hygiene, infection protection, and professional communication to ensure quality and safety in nursing.
