Course overview

This course focuses on the professional, legal, and organizational foundations of care consulting. You will engage with the services of health and long-term care insurance, the assessment of care needs, various medical conditions and care situations, as well as individual counseling and care planning for those in need of care and their relatives. Content: Understand the tasks, professional profile, and societal significance of care advisors, as well as the legal requirements for care consulting Differentiate between various forms of counseling, such as consultations according to § 37 Abs. 3 SGB XI, care consulting according to § 7a SGB XI, as well as training and courses Classify the structure and financing of the healthcare system and the differences between statutory health insurance, social long-term care insurance, private insurance, and aid Know the services of health and long-term care insurance and central technical terms of nursing services and assign them to counseling needs Understand care needs and assessment procedures by the Medical Service or Medicproof, as well as the classification criteria of the NBA Assess relevant medical conditions and their impacts on mobility, cognition, communication, self-care, and daily living Consider special counseling needs in cases of dementia, mental illnesses, disabilities, acquired brain injuries, as well as in palliative and hospice care Learn about the special requirements for the care needs of children and adolescents and support options for families Create counseling and training protocols and develop individual care plans based on specific care situations Classify different care settings, home and outpatient care, alternative living arrangements, aids, technical assistance systems, as well as opportunities for participation, prevention, and rehabilitation Perspectives: With this knowledge, you can systematically identify the counseling and support needs of people in need of care and their relatives and demonstrate suitable care options.
