Course overview

The aim of the course The Professional UX Design training covers methods and processes of user-centered product and interface design in the field of Human-Computer Interaction. The focus is on requirements analysis, interaction design, and the development of information architecture and navigation logic. The course teaches approaches for creating wireframes and prototypes and addresses usability testing steps. The goal is the structured application of UX methods throughout the entire design process. Content UX Fundamentals and Process Framework: Classification of UX, UI, and Service Design, roles in the product team, process models from research to conception to evaluation, documentation of requirements and usage context User and Context Analysis: Data collection through interviews and observations, derivation of personas and usage scenarios, task analyses, definition of use cases and acceptance criteria Information Architecture and Interaction Design: Structuring of content, navigation models, user flows, state and error management, accessibility aspects according to common guidelines Prototyping and UI Specification: Low to high-fidelity wireframes, pattern usage, basics of design systems, handover to development, specifications and annotations Usability Tests and Metrics: Test planning, conducting formative tests, heuristic evaluation, evaluation of qualitative and quantitative data, derivation of measures Production and Operational Contexts: Collaboration with development, version and component maintenance, content and legal aspects such as data protection and consents Learning Objectives - Analyze usage contexts through interviews, observations, and task analyses - Identify essential user requirements and derive personas, scenarios, and use cases - Create information architectures, navigation structures, and user flows for defined tasks - Develop wireframes and interactive prototypes at various levels of detail - Conduct and evaluate usability tests including planning, moderation, and evaluation - Integrate design components into a design system and implement UI specifications for handover to development Career Perspectives The course content is applicable in professional fields such as UX Designer in product or agency environments with a focus on conception and prototyping.
