Course overview

This training includes the language fundamentals of programming with JavaScript: variables and data types, functions as values, objects and arrays, as well as event-driven processes. Your competencies Correctly use variables, data types, and control structures in JavaScript Pass functions as values and use them in your own processes Edit objects and arrays with their built-in methods Understand and test JavaScript processes that respond to events Language fundamentals of JavaScript Declaration with let and const, scopes Dynamic types, type conversion, and comparisons Execution in the browser and in server-side runtime environments Functions, Objects, and Events Functions, arrow functions, and closures Objects, arrays, and destructuring Event-driven programming with callback functions Application in Professional Life Read and specifically adjust existing scripts of a website Narrow down errors using the console of the browser's developer tools Document reusable JavaScript functions for the team Professional Fields Development teams with browser-based applications IT departments with JavaScript-based tools The object-oriented language with classes, bytecode, and virtual machine is covered in the course "Programming with Java", while asynchronous data retrieval from web interfaces is addressed in the course "Web Development with JavaScript".
