Course overview
Project Management CHM includes the core modules GPM Basic and Change Management. The training course imparts fundamental knowledge in project management according to the standards of GPM (German Society for Project Management) in conjunction with methods of change management. The qualification combines structured project management with the organizational and interpersonal aspects of change processes. At the beginning, the focus is on the mathematically-analytical initiation and the creation of a formal project mandate. Content and Objective Planning In the context of content and objective planning, the scope is defined, and the required deliverables are identified. The Magic Triangle serves to control the fundamental parameters, illustrating the interactions between time, cost, and quality. Operational project management requires the breakdown of the overall project into individual work packages. For structured scheduling and process control, milestones are defined, and the Critical Path is analyzed to identify time-critical dependencies. Tasks and Authorities Effective project management also involves the systematic distribution of tasks and authorities. The RACI matrix is used to clearly assign responsibilities, while the allocation of necessary resources ensures the feasibility of all measures. A central kick-off meeting serves to align all participants before the start of implementation. Furthermore, modern project management also considers flexible working methods, which is why the management of a task list or backlog and the implementation of work steps in a defined iteration are taught. Implementation Phase During the implementation phase, project management focuses on continuous controlling. Regular comparisons of planned versus actual outcomes are conducted to capture deviations and document them in status reports. If necessary adjustments arise during the process, the change request procedure is employed. Additionally, the qualification addresses preventive risk management to assess and mitigate potential threats to project success early on. Involvement of Stakeholders Since organizational changes often provoke resistance, the involvement of all stakeholders is a central element in project management. The integration of change management approaches supports the facilitation of transformation processes at both structural and personnel levels. Successful project management concludes with a systematic project evaluation, where valuable insights for future projects are secured through the documentation of lessons learned. This practical project management thus imparts the professional tools for standardized planning, control, and execution of projects.
