Course overview
Project Management P2F consists of the core modules GPM Basic and PRINCE2 Foundation. Methodological Foundations The training course imparts the methodological foundations for structured project management according to the standards of GPM and the process-oriented framework PRINCE2 Foundation. The integration of both approaches strengthens holistic project management by connecting competency-based fields of action with a clear process and role architecture. At the beginning of the qualification, project initiation and the creation of a formal project mandate are essential to establish the business justification and strategic framework conditions. Content and Process Planning In the context of content and process planning, professional project management requires precise delineation of the scope and the definition of all deliverables to be provided. Operational project management utilizes the division of the project into clearly defined work packages and the establishment of temporal reference points through milestones. The analysis of the Critical Path serves to identify time-critical dependencies, while the Triple Constraint allows for the continuous balancing of the target dimensions of time, cost, and quality. Resource Allocation and RACI Matrix Effective project management ensures a clear assignment of tasks and decision-making authorities through the allocation of required resources and the application of a RACI matrix. Before transitioning to the execution phase, a central kick-off meeting is held to align all stakeholders. Additionally, flexible control mechanisms are addressed, including maintaining a task list or backlog and implementing work steps in a defined iteration. Control and Implementation Phase In the control and implementation phase, project management focuses on seamless controlling. Regular comparisons of planned versus actual performance capture deviations from the baseline plan and communicate them in formal status reports to the steering committees. Necessary course corrections or expansions are managed through a defined change request. At the same time, systematic risk management protects the project from unforeseen events. Involvement of Stakeholders The targeted involvement of all relevant stakeholders forms a crucial pillar in modern project management to ensure transparency and acceptance. At the end of the execution, project management concludes with securing lessons learned to sustainably utilize gained insights for future projects. This course provides the necessary tools for standardized project management according to international guidelines. Graduates receive a solid foundation for reliable project management in complex corporate structures.
