Course overview
The quality of AI results directly depends on how well the input is formulated. This training course teaches the craft of a Prompt Engineer: systematically developing, testing, and documenting prompts so that entire teams can benefit. Participants will practice on real-world tasks from everyday work, in short cycles with direct feedback from trainers. How language models process inputs Those who understand how a model reacts to inputs can formulate more precisely instead of relying on luck. - Understand the basics of the structure and functioning of Large Language Models - Recognize the influence of context, order, and wording on the outcome - Classify typical weaknesses such as hallucinations and context loss Systematically apply prompt techniques - Purposefully combine roles, objectives, examples, and formatting requirements - Build multi-step prompts: break down, refine, and merge - Guide step-by-step approaches when tasks require intermediate steps - Structure outputs, for example, as tables, outlines, or templates Test and improve prompts Good prompts emerge through iteration, not from the first attempt. - Compare variants against each other and document differences clearly to ensure improvements are not accidental - Define and consistently apply criteria for usable results - Analyze failures and derive reusable patterns from them Anchor prompt knowledge within the team - Build and maintain prompt libraries for recurring tasks, from loose collections to well-organized archives - Document templates so that colleagues can adapt them - Coordinate standards for tone, structure, and quality expectations within the team Responsible handling of inputs and results - Identify confidential data and consistently exclude it from prompts - Observe the basics of GDPR and the EU AI Act when working with language models Develop prompts for different types of tasks Each type of task requires its own prompt logic; one pattern does not fit all. - Precisely guide summaries and evaluations of longer texts - Translate content between formats, such as from notes to minutes or reports - Formulate assessment and examination tasks with clear criteria - Purposefully stimulate idea generation and variation creation This training course imparts the ability to develop prompts as reusable work tools and to reliably manage their quality in everyday work.
