Course overview

Knowing Scrum and implementing Scrum are two different tasks. This training prepares participants for the role of a Scrum Master, who re-establishes Scrum in teams and their environment, guides them through the critical initial phase, and ensures its sustainability. Structuring the Implementation Process An implementation needs a plan that allows for learning rather than demanding mere completion. - Create a realistic implementation roadmap with stages and learning objectives - Design kickoff and training formats for the team and environment - Make agreements with management: freedoms, expectations, support - Define success criteria for the implementation and regularly review them together Preparing for the Implementation A Scrum implementation begins long before the first sprint, with an honest assessment of the team and environment. - Honestly assess the current situation of the team and its environment, including previous working methods - Clarify and adjust expectations from management and neighboring areas before they become burdensome - Create starting conditions: scope, participants, initial product goals, and deadlines Accompanying the First Sprints In the first sprints, it is determined whether Scrum becomes routine or remains a ritual. - Initially closely moderate events and gradually hand them over to the team as confidence builds - Recognize typical initial hurdles: overloaded sprints, unclear responsibilities, old habits - Make learning experiences from each sprint visible and celebrate them Engaging the Environment Scrum often fails due to the environment rather than the team itself. - Introduce leaders to their changed roles and support them in everyday life - Consciously design interfaces to areas without Scrum - Actively inform neighboring areas about the new working methods and points of contact - Constructively address disruptions and interventions from outside instead of silently accepting them Anchoring Scrum Permanently Scrum is only anchored when it can sustain itself without constant push. - Assess the maturity level of the team and choose the next development steps without overwhelming the team - Distinguish adjustments to the framework from dilutions and openly address both - Recognize relapses into old patterns and work together with the team to counteract them - Continuously develop one's role over time, from moderator to sparring partner of the team Upon completion, participants will be able to reintroduce Scrum in teams, guide them through the critical initial phase, and sustainably anchor it in everyday work.
