Course overview

The Agile Scrum Foundation course teaches the fundamentals of the Scrum framework and the agile mindset for project work. It covers the central Scrum roles, Scrum events, and Scrum artifacts, as well as their interplay in the sprint process. Additionally, techniques for estimation, prioritization, and progress monitoring using burndown charts and Kanban boards are introduced. The Agile Manifesto and related methods such as Kanban complete the introduction to Scrum. Contents o Introduction to Scrum: agile project management, distinction from traditional methods, values and principles of the Agile Manifesto, goals, definitions, and theory of Scrum o Roles, Events, and Artifacts: Scrum Product Owner, Scrum Master, and Development Team, Sprint, Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective, Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog, and Product Increment o Agile Practices: measurements and methods, burn-down charts, information radiator, and Niko-Niko calendar o Extreme Programming and Estimations: Extreme Programming, refactoring and pair programming, continuous integration, agile testing and definition of done, estimation and planning techniques with user stories and Scrum poker o Scrum Planning: Sprint Planning and Sprint Backlog, MoSCoW prioritization, types of contracts o Kanban: visualization, work in progress, pull versus push principle o Philosophy: Scrum pillars and Scrum values Further certifications as Agile Scrum Master and Agile Scrum Product Owner are possible.
