Course overview
Sexuality is one of the fundamental human needs, and its self-determined expression is a basic right. Sexuality can change throughout life, but it does not necessarily cease with aging. Even an elderly person can have sexual needs and may wish to express them independently of any care dependency or dementia. Professional caregivers often find themselves helpless when faced with specific situational problems regarding the satisfaction of their clients' sexual needs. In this training, you will first reflect on your own attitude towards the sexuality of older, care-dependent individuals in order to overcome any inhibitions in dealing with this topic. Through examples, you will learn how to professionally respond to sexualized behavior from your clients.
