Course overview

Social law forms the central foundation for social security systems in Germany and regulates claims for benefits, particularly in the area of care. It ensures that people in need of support have access to necessary assistance and that social participation is guaranteed. For professionals in care, a solid understanding of these legal structures is crucial to competently accompany and advise those affected. In this training, you will receive a structured overview of the most important regulations of social law in the context of care. You will engage intensively with the Social Code Books I to XII and learn how these are applied in everyday care practice. Both fundamental principles and specific benefit claims and administrative procedures will be conveyed in a practical manner. A special focus is placed on social long-term care insurance as well as related systems such as health insurance and social assistance. You will learn about the benefits entitled to those in need of care, how application procedures work, and how support services can be utilized effectively. Special regulations for children in need of care will also be considered to provide a comprehensive understanding of different life situations. Furthermore, the training provides insights into the practical application of social law provisions. You will learn to categorize legal claims, correctly accompany applications, and advise those in need of care and their relatives in an understandable manner. Selected court decisions will also be discussed to illustrate the application of social law in practice. Upon completion of the training, you will be able to confidently apply the fundamentals of social law and competently guide those affected through complex benefit and application processes.
