Course overview

Neuropsychological insights help design digital products that better align with the cognitive abilities and needs of users. Perception, attention, memory, and motivation significantly influence the use of digital applications and form an important foundation for user-centered UX design. In this course, you will learn the key neuropsychological principles and apply them to the design and evaluation of digital user interfaces. Content: Fundamentals of neuropsychology and their significance for UX design Perception, attention, and Gestalt principles in the design of digital interfaces Cognitive load, mental models, and user-friendly information processing Memory processes as well as recognition and recall principles in interface design Designing learning-friendly and user-friendly interaction concepts Emotion, motivation, and psychological factors influencing user experience Gamification and motivating design of digital applications UX design for people with cognitive impairments and accessible applications UX in therapy, neurofeedback, and training systems Analysis, evaluation, and optimization of digital applications based on neuropsychological principles Perspectives: The acquired knowledge provides a foundation for activities in UX and UI design, digital product development, service design, e-health, medical technology, digital health, product management, as well as in companies, agencies, and organizations that develop digital applications for various target groups.
