Course overview

Web development refers to the planning, implementation, and maintenance of web applications across all layers - from building a page in the browser to the logic on the server and delivery. The course combines frontend technology with backend integration, clean code organization, and an awareness of loading times, accessibility, and visibility in search engines. As a continuing education course, it covers both the fundamentals as well as testing strategies, version control, and deployment. Programming in the browser begins with syntax, data types, and control structures, form processing, and event handling, leading to object-oriented programming, modules, and an overview of libraries and frameworks, up to asynchronous programming and debugging techniques. On the server side, languages and runtime environments, database models and management, interface design, and data security follow. The conclusion covers quality and operational topics: troubleshooting and performance optimization, SEO as a quality feature, collaborative work with shared code, continuous deployment, and maintenance. Ensuring that an application remains user-friendly is a standard that runs through all steps - from page structure to server response.
