Residential Area Management in Nursing (WBL)

Course overview

As a Residential Area Manager (short: WBL), you are part of the management team and serve as a link between the nursing service management (PDL) as the supervisory authority and the subordinate nursing staff in your residential area. You bear the nursing and organizational responsibility for this area. You lead the nursing team and manage the nursing process in your residential area according to the guidelines and goals of the management. You manage daily operations and also participate directly in the care of residents or patients. Through your position "directly at the scene," you hold an important key position in your facility, ensuring efficient management processes and good care quality. Based on the foundations you have already acquired during your training and professional practice, we provide you with further education that includes knowledge in the areas of management, communication, law, and leadership skills. Upon successful completion of the IHK certificate course, participants acquire the professional qualifications necessary to lead residential areas in stationary care facilities. Good to know: We recognize this qualification for the certification as a "Leading Specialist in Nursing according to § 71 SGB XI" if you register for it within the next 2 years after your WBL graduation. Methods: Lectures, instructor presentations, individual and group work, exercises, experience exchange, presentations and discussions, extensive practical examples, online campus. The future leaders are expected to develop professional action competence as a key qualification through the connection of theory and practice, working with case studies, and the selection of different teaching forms and media.
