Course overview

A qualified start to your future Are you working as a pedagogical assistant or volunteering in a daycare? Are you a student with ESA, doing a voluntary social year, an intern in the social sector, or a career changer with a strong interest in educational work with children? Our training "Assistant in Daycare Centers" offers you a qualified entry into nurseries and the elementary sector and imparts important skills in the areas of childhood pedagogy, developmental psychology, legal foundations, and communication with children and parents. The qualification is recognized by the social authority according to the key points paper from March 17, 2021 (resolution of the daycare contract commission according to § 26 state framework agreement 'Childcare in day care facilities'), which also covers the costs after successful completion. Your career opportunity With our introductory qualification, your future begins now! Due to the shortage of skilled workers in daycare facilities, you have very good chances of being hired immediately after the 10-week training and can start working as an assistant for up to four and a half years! The qualification ends with a presentation about a support unit completed in your practical daycare and an oral exam. You will receive a certificate of completion from us. As a successful graduate, you also have the opportunity, under certain conditions, to pursue a part-time training as a Social Pedagogical Assistant (SPA). After completion, you can employ the participants as assistants in your daycare for up to 4.5 years. The costs for the qualification "Assistant in Daycare Centers" will be covered by the social authority upon successful completion. Overview Possible fields of work - Assistants mainly work in - Nurseries - Daycare centers - Kindergartens, children's shops Course structure - 160 practical hours in your daycare as an intern - 216 teaching hours at the Grone Educational Center for Health and Social Professions - Class times: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 15:00 - Recognized Grone certificate, allowing you to work as an assistant in a daycare for up to four and a half years. Within this time frame, graduates have the opportunity to begin a (part-time) training as a Social Pedagogical Assistant (SPA).
