Handling tools on real vehicles Techniques for repairs on concrete examples Smart Repair Overview Smart Repair, or "Small to Medium Area Repair Technology," describes procedures that enable targeted repairs of minor defects on vehicles. These methods focus on eliminating damage. In vehicle preparation, Smart Repair is primarily used for surface and minor damage. Typical application areas of Smart Repair include the repair of scratches through paint repairs, the correction of dents and bulges, as well as the repair of damaged plastic parts with color matching. Additionally, the refurbishment of leather and interior fittings is carried out, glass repairs, and the replacement of windows are taught. Vehicle wrapping and window tinting are also common areas of activity. Autoglass Training Content This training covers the Smart Repair field of autoglass. This includes the repair of minor damage to vehicle glass that does not require window replacement, such as stone chips or cracks. Special resins are used to fill and seal the damaged area. The replacement of vehicle windows and other glass parts is also taught. This module on autoglass covers the following content: Basic knowledge and legal requirements Stone chip repair Expertise in the area of airbags and seatbelt tensioners (limited) Replacing window panes (automotive) Theory on the removal and installation of sensors Replacing mirrors Replacing front and rear windows Requirements for Participation Interest in manual work, especially in dealing with vehicles Manual dexterity German language skills at B2 level
